U3A Ringwood has received the following grants. These grants are important to our aim to keep membership fees low and for providing services to our community, our members and our tutors.
U3A Ringwood Inc acknowledges the ongoing support of Maroondah City Council’s Community Grants Funding Program. Their 2021/22 grant of $750 will largely cover our ongoing printing costs.
We have been awarded a Be Connected Digital Devices grant of $5,000. The grant is a one-off grant to help fund organisations, within the Be Connected Network, to loan devices and data to socially isolated or disadvantaged learners over 50.
As a result, we have purchased, and are able to offer, eight new Android tablets which come pre-connected to the internet – no home internet required.
We are very pleased to announce that we have recently been successful in obtaining a 2021 Federal Government volunteer grant of $3,400. Our grant application, which was supported by Michael Sukkar MP, Federal Member for Deakin, is specifically for the purchase of:
Secure storage for our records (which meet our legal obligations for record keeping and privacy),
Purchase of an EFT terminal to facilitate the receipt of membership monies etc. and to reduce the need to handle cash; and to
Conduct a workshop to assist our Class Leaders prior to recommencing face to face classes in 2022.
